ARTIST STATEMENT
My work has been influenced by the love of Surrealism as well as the Abstract. The abstract style allows the viewer to personally interpret the artwork, while Surrealism tells a story with hidden messages.
Look for the hidden messages within my work and see how many images you can find and faces are staring back at you.
There is freedom with abstraction and when combined with symbology – the possibilities are limitless. I like to work intuitively and organically without too many preconceived ideas of the outcome, so I can be pleasantly surprised once the artwork has been completed.
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My artworks are created on wooden cradled panels, fully sealed including the back, coupled with D-rings and coated wiring. Artworks are painted in oils with various mediums including cold wax and pastel.
There is a layering process required to get the desired effect including texture, depth, and personality. I like to use vibrant colours and aspire to create the visually quirky and unusual.
